This 4 Day Gorillas and Golden Monkey Safari. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to almost a half of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas. It is also the only place in the world where wild chimpanzees co-exist with mountain gorillas. Our 4 Day gorillas and Golden monkey safari will also take you to Mgahinga National Park where you may also trek gorillas, especially for those who are interested in trekking the gorilla family named Nyakagezi. Nyakagezi is a place in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park  where there is a lot of sumptuous food which is attractive to the gorillas. So, the Nyakagezi group is known for living in narrow home range for purposes of feeding, nesting, relaxing and recreation. While our 4 Day gorillas and golden monkey safari starts and ends in Entebbe, we can also tailor it to start and end in Kigali Rwanda. Kindly let us know your preference.

Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1: To Bwindi NP for your 4 Day gorillas and Golden Monkey safari

After you arrive in Entebbe International Airport, our driver/guide will welcome and brief you and thereafter, you will depart Entebbe/Kampala for your transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park located in South western Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to half the number of mountain gorillas in the whole world. It is also the only place where chimpanzees co-exist with Mountain Gorillas. You will have an en route stopover at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe to take photographs and observe a simple experiment before continuing to Mbarara town for Lunch. After lunch, you will embark on your scenic filled drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for overnight at Kisoro Traveler’s Inn or Lake Chahafi Resort

DAY 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park

After an early morning breakfast, with your packed lunch, you will report to the Park Headquarters at about 7:45 am for registration and then you will join other trackers for a briefing about the Dos and the Don’ts during your Gorilla Tracking safari. Your guides will lead you through the thick creepers and undergrowth as you trek to find the Gorillas. This trek can take you half an hour to three quarters of the day. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The amount of time you take during the trek largely depends on the movement of the gorillas. But it is an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered Creatures. Also, as you trek, you are likely to spot other primates, birds and rare tree species. After finding the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them before trekking back to the park headquarter where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and in recognition of your contribution to the conservation of mountain gorillas.

DAY 3: Golden Monkey Trekking in Mgahinga

After your breakfast, you will drive to Mgahinga National Park for briefing and then go for your golden monkey trekking. This golden monkey walk will expose you to other attractions in the park before returning back to your hotel for overnight.

DAY 4: To Kampala or Entebbe International Airport

After your breakfast, you will be driven to Kampala or Entebbe for your post tour accommodation or you may choose to fly out of Uganda on this day. You will again have another chance to make a stopover at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe.
