The 3 Days Uganda Chimpanzee Habituation Experience (CHE) or chimpanzee tracking safari is a great alternative to the 3 Day Gorilla Trekking Uganda, especially considering the cost.
For almost 10 hours in the jungle following their movements, habits, games, and resting with them, you let go of US$220 per person. In chimpanzee tracking, where you spend one hour with a habituated chimp group, you pay US$150. Comparing both to a gorilla trekking permit of US$600, that’s quite affordable for a budget traveler you know.
But, what is the Chimpanzee habituation experience?
Chimp habituation experience is an activity where travelers are allowed to join researchers (By the Uganda Wildlife Authority) on their day’s quest to habituate a chimpanzee group in their natural habitat by following the chimp group throughout their daily routines, from the break of dawn when the wake to the end of the day when they build their nests and retire for the day.
One does not only stop seeing and photographing chimps, but he/she participates in all activities involved in habituating our closest relatives the chimps. A whole day of such experience is worth doing on your Uganda Safari.
