Price increase of chimpanzee permits – In reference to current publication issued out by Uganda Wildlife Authority in August 2019, the Increase of chimpanzee permits on trekking and Habituation will increase from 1st July 2020 where by you will be required to pay USD200.00 from USD150.00 to trek Chimpanzee in Kibale National Park and FROM USD200.00 to USD250.00 for Habituation experience. However prices for other chimp trekking destinations in the country have been maintained at USD50.00 and USD80.00 for Kyambura and Kyambura respectively.
The Price increase of Chimpanzee permits has been due to high demands for chimpanzee trek in the region where by prime places like Kibale National Park a renowned place for chimp trek and habituation have been on high demand by visitor to undergo the experience in the park. Therefore increase in permits has come with additional features of increasing time for the trek to three shifts per day and an increase in support to park rangers who help in conservation and protection of the primate territories from danger.
