Who This Safari Suits

Ideal for Travelers Who Want Variety

Uganda works well for couples, honeymooners, photographers, solo travelers and families with older children. It is also an excellent choice for repeat African safari travelers who want to add primate encounters.

Some days are active. Others are relaxed. A forest trek can be followed by a game drive or easy boat cruise.

Mountain gorilla trekking has a minimum age of 15 years. Travelers with mobility concerns should tell us early so we can consider the route, lodge location and porter support.

Getting There

Travel from Germany to Uganda

Travelers can begin from airports such as Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin, Düsseldorf and Hamburg. Most journeys involve at least one international connection.

Entebbe International Airport is usually the best gateway for a wider Uganda circuit. Spending the first night in Entebbe can make the start of the safari more comfortable.

Kigali International Airport can suit shorter journeys focused on Bwindi or Mgahinga. It also works for Uganda and Rwanda combination trips.

Some travelers arrive in Entebbe and depart from Kigali. This can reduce unnecessary backtracking on selected routes.

Confirm the Gorilla Permit Before the Bwindi Lodge

When to Travel

Best Time for a Uganda Safari from Germany

Uganda can be visited throughout the year. Drier periods are popular for trekking and road travel. Wetter months offer greener scenery and often fewer visitors.

December–February

March–May

Expect more rain and greener landscapes. Forest trails can become muddy.

October–November

Rain is more common, but safaris continue and the countryside is lush.

Remember: Bwindi and Kibale are tropical forests. Rain can occur even during the drier months.
