The 4-day Gorilla & Lake Bunyonyi Safari Starts and ends in Entebbe. Depending on your budget, the safari may involve transfers by either road or air. By road, you drive from Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, via Kampala-Masaka-Mbarara road. Then by air, you board a plane from Entebbe to Kisoro airstrip for two hours, then less than an hour drive follows.

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After an early Bwindi Gorillas & Lake Bunyonyi Holiday breakfast, you will be picked up from your Hotel by one of our experienced Tour drivers/guides, who will transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will make a stopover at the equator for Photography and Mbarara town for a Lunch break. You will then proceed on your journey to Bwindi forest, arriving early evening. On your arrival, you will relax at the lodge while preparing for your gorilla trekking the next day.
Dinner and overnight: Buhoma Lodge/Rushaga Havens Lodge
Day 2: Gorilla trekking adventure and afternoon community walk
An Early morning Bwindi Gorillas & Lake Bunyonyi safari starts after your breakfast. You will report to the park office to attend the briefing by the ranger guide about the dos and don’ts of gorilla tracking. You will then know the gorilla family which you will track.
Expect to walk a long distance on a steep muddy and slippery trail, sometimes with rain overhead while tracking gorillas. The whole exercise may be strenuous. However, the joy you experience after encountering the gorillas is overwhelming.
Meeting the gentle giants in the Bwindi forest is perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. Trekking may take 3-6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas in their natural habitat.
You will stay with the gorillas for a maximum of one hour. Once you encounter them, you’ll then return from tracking. Alternatively, you may go for a community walk. The community walk allows you to meet local people including Batwa/ pygmies as you learn about their way of living.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi & Boat ride/ canoeing
In the morning after breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. It is the most beautiful and deepest lake in Uganda, arriving in good time to have your delicious lunch.
In the afternoon after lunch, you will take a boat trip to visit different historical islands on the lake. These include; Akampene also known as Punishment Island, Bwama, and Njuyera also known as Sharp’s Island. There is also Bushara Island and many more. Alternatively, take a canoe tour. Later return to your lodge for evening relaxation.
Dinner and overnight stay: Birdnest Resort/Arcadia Cottages
Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala – Entebbe International Airport.
After breakfast, set off for the end of the 4-day Gorilla & Lake Bunyonyi Safari. You’ll then drive back to Kampala with an en-route lunch break, then continue your journey arriving in Entebbe early evening. Proceed to check in for your departure flight to your next destination or get dropped off at your Hotel as you end your tour.
