Safari Itinerary of the 7-day gorilla Chimp & Wildlife Rwanda Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Upon your arrival at the airport on this first day of your Rwanda gorilla trekking holiday. Our Safari Vacations and Travel Services guide will meet you. Then, You will transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park, south of Rwanda. You will have stopovers at the Butare Museum for history and lunch. Later on, you will reach Nyungwe in the evening, have dinner, and rest. You will prepare yourself for exciting activities the following day.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and Canopy walk
On day two we shall have a full-hour experience with Rwandan chimps when you locate them in the forest of Nyungwe. You shall wake up early and meet these Chimpanzees before they rise. This is because locating them becomes a challenge when they are awake. Then, when you find them, you will have an hour monitoring them. After tracking the Chimps, you’ll return to the lodge for lunch and head for a Canopy walk. The canopy walk is on top of Nyungwe Forest in the afternoon before we retire for dinner and overnight at our place of stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Musanze
Most certainly, you will wake up early on the third day and begin off with the journey. The journey will see you switch from the southern province of Rwanda to the northern province. You will have a stopover lunch in Kigali City. Then, you’ll arrive at Musanze (where Volcanoes National Park is) in the evening. You will then have dinner and retire for an early night’s sleep.

Day 4: Mountain Gorilla Tracking & Ibyi’Wacu Cultural Visit
You will rise to a heavy breakfast meal on day 4 and drive to the park headquarters in Kinigi. You will go for a briefing meeting before making your way into the jungles of Volcanoes National Park in search of Mountain Gorillas. Then, you will have a full hour’s experience with these primates. Upon locating them, return to the park headquarters. You’ll receive your respective mountain gorilla tracking certificates and head to our lodge for lunch. You’ll visit Iby’Iwacu cultural village for some spice of Rwandan culture. The culture should manifest itself in the form of traditional dances, storytelling moments plus a lot more you’ll see. From here, you will then retire at our lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Golden Monkey Tracking and transfer to Kigali
After an early morning breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters to catch up with the rest of the group. Then, head for a Golden Monkey tracking experience. It is an adventure that will reward you with a full hour of a close encounter with these endangered primates. After tracking golden monkeys, return to your lodge for lunch and then transfer to Kigali for a brief city tour and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Akagera National Park
We shall rise to an early breakfast and depart Kigali at exactly 7:00 am, heading East of Rwanda across Kigali City. You’ll arrive a bit early and check in at your place of stay. Then, you’ll have lunch and head for an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema. The boat cruise will allow you to see mammals like hippopotamuses, and crocodiles plus a few water birds. From here, retire to our lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Game Drive in Akagera & transfer to Kigali
