Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Kigali city tour – transfer to Volcanoes Gorilla Park
On arrival at the airport, our driver guide will welcome you and take you for a city tour including a visit to the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Centre and the women’s handicrafts market. After lunch proceed to Volcanoes National Park in the northwest of Rwanda. It is a 2-hour drive from Kigali to the park along a well-tarmacked road.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Adventure
As early as 6:30 am, enjoy breakfast and thereafter transfer to the national park headquarters for briefing before trekking. At 8:00 am you will start to hike into the forest with the lead of an armed guide following specific trails in search of gorillas. Ordinarily, it takes between 2-6 hours to meet the gorillas.
Visitors spend an hour in the presence of mountain gorillas. This is popularly known as a ‘magical hour’ full of amazing memories as you watch gorillas which share 98% of the human DNA go about their daily routines. While in the presence of gorillas, visitors observe the gorilla trekking guidelines including not getting so close to them and maintaining silence. Feel free to take photos of the gorillas though without using flash cameras.
Return for lunch at the lodge/hotel and transfer back to Kigali. Depending on your departure flight schedule, your driver will transfer to the airport.
