Today is the highlight of your 3-Day Uganda Gorilla & Batwa Safari.
After an early breakfast, your driver-guide will transfer you to the appropriate Bwindi park headquarters for registration and a gorilla trekking briefing.
During the briefing, Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers explain trekking procedures, forest conditions, gorilla conservation and the guidelines visitors must follow when approaching the gorillas.
You will then enter the rainforest accompanied by experienced ranger guides.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
The trek may take anywhere from a few hours to much of the day depending on the movements and location of your assigned gorilla family.
Bwindi's terrain can include hills, thick vegetation, and muddy forest trails. The experience of walking through one of Africa's oldest tropical forests is itself an important part of the adventure.
Once your ranger team locates the gorillas, you will have an extraordinary opportunity to quietly observe them.
Watch adults feeding among the vegetation, younger gorillas playing and powerful silverbacks keeping watch over their family.
You are normally allowed one hour with the gorillas before beginning your walk back through the forest.
After completing the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and some time to relax.

Batwa Cultural Experience
Later in the afternoon, enjoy a guided Batwa cultural experience.
The Batwa have a long historical connection with the forests of southwestern Uganda. During the experience, community guides may demonstrate traditional skills, storytelling, music, dancing and aspects of how forest resources were historically used.
The experience provides a cultural complement to the wildlife-focused morning and gives visitors an opportunity to learn directly from members of the local community.
Return to your lodge afterward for relaxation, dinner and your second overnight stay near Bwindi.
