Nyungwe Forest National park
With roughly 400 individuals, Nyungwe Forest Naational park became the leading park with the largest population of chimpanzee in Rwanda and chimpanzee trekking is the main activity done in Nyungwe forest national park. From Kigali through Muhanga-Huye Nyungwe forest national park is situated south of the country around 200 km which is 124 miles from Rwandan capital city Kigali via Muhanga and king’s palace in Nyaza then continue to Butare from Butare then connect to the park through the hilly roads before arriving at the park headquarters situated in Gisekura.
From Huye (Butare) since many tourists tend to stay for an overnight in Huye aiming to do activities on their way to the forest, we highy advise the direct trip can be stressing from Rusizi or Kamembe airport.
