Detailed Itinerary of the 5 Days Queen Elizabeth Wildlife and Gorilla Safari

Day 1: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, our guide will pick you up from your hotel and brief you about the whole trip. Then, commence your tour as you drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Masaka-Mbarara highway. En route, marvel at the picturesque rolling hills, crater lakes, and diverse vegetation. Also, you’ll stop at the equator in Kayabwe for photographs and experiments. Proceed to Mbarara for lunch, and arrive in the park in the evening for an evening game drive. Enjoy an evening game drive upon arrival, spotting various wildlife species. These include warthogs, bushbucks, antelopes, elephants, and many others. Finally, drive to your lodge for relaxation.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and afternoon Boat Ride on the Kazinga Channel

Set out early for a thrilling game drive in the Kasenyi plains. Consequently, you will observe the rich wildlife including Uganda kob, elephants, buffalos, and lions. Return for lunch before venturing into a leisurely boat ride along the popular Kazinga Channel. The channel has the highest concentration of hippos in the world. Also, you will encounter crocodiles, buffalos, elephants, and a plethora of birdlife. Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Enjoy an early morning game drive in the Ishasha sector. As a result, you’ll see the tree-climbing lions which the sector is popular for. Meanwhile, look out for other animals in the park including topics, duikers, and waterbucks, to mention but a few. Afterward, proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Arrive in the evening and settle in at your accommodation.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest National Park

Prepare for an exhilarating gorilla trekking experience after an early breakfast. With a packed lunch and ample water, start a journey into the dense forest, seeking out the majestic mountain gorillas. You’ll trek for between 2-6 hours. Meanwhile, the time it takes you to find the gorillas depends on their movement and where they nested the last night. Then, the rangers will allow you to spend an hour in their presence while you’re monitoring them. Take as many pictures as you can, as long as your camera doesn’t have a flashlight. Witness these remarkable creatures in their natural habitat, a truly unforgettable encounter. Return to the lodge for relaxation and dinner.

Day 5: Transfer to Kampala
