Day 01 :

Kampala/Entebbe – Transfer to Kibale National Park

Your 3-Day Chimpanzee Safari begins with a morning pickup from Entebbe or Kampala before travelling west toward Kibale National Park. After meeting your Safari Vacations and Travel Services driver-guide, you will begin the journey west toward Kibale National Park.

The drive takes you through Uganda's changing countryside, with views of towns, villages, farmland and rolling landscapes. As you approach the Fort Portal and Kibale region, the surroundings become increasingly green, with tea plantations, forest patches and views of the foothills associated with western Uganda's Albertine Rift landscape.

You will stop for lunch along the journey before continuing toward your accommodation near Kibale National Park.

Upon arrival, check into your lodge and spend the remainder of the afternoon relaxing after the drive. Depending on your arrival time and lodge location, you may take a short walk around the property or simply enjoy the forest surroundings.

Day 02 :

3-Day Uganda Chimpanzee Safari in Kibale National Park & Bigodi Wetland Walk

After an early breakfast, your driver-guide will transfer you to the designated chimpanzee trekking briefing point in Kibale National Park. You will register before attending a briefing conducted by the ranger guides.

The main highlight of your 3-Day Chimpanzee Safari is guided chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park.

During the briefing, you will learn about chimpanzee behavior, forest conservation and the rules that visitors should follow during the trek. You will then enter the forest in a small guided group to begin searching for habituated chimpanzees.

The trek can vary in duration because chimpanzees move freely through their natural forest habitat. Rangers use their knowledge of the forest, vocalizations and other signs to locate the chimpanzees.

Once the chimpanzees are found, standard tracking visitors normally receive up to one hour with the habituated chimpanzees. This provides an extraordinary opportunity to watch their natural behavior and take photographs while maintaining the required distance and following ranger instructions.

Chimpanzees are the main attraction, but Kibale Forest also provides opportunities to encounter other primates and forest wildlife. Sightings vary each day and are never guaranteed.

After completing your chimpanzee trekking experience, return for lunch and some relaxation.

Later in the afternoon, continue to Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided nature walk. The wetland and surrounding forest are known for primates, birds, butterflies and diverse vegetation. The experience also supports community-based conservation and local livelihoods.

After the walk, return to your lodge for dinner and your final overnight near Kibale.

Day 03 :

Kibale National Park – Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe

After breakfast, check out of your lodge and begin the return journey to Kampala or Entebbe.

This final day of the 3-Day Uganda Chimpanzee Trekking Safari gives you another opportunity to enjoy western Uganda's countryside. You will travel through areas of farmland, small towns and rural communities as you make your way toward central Uganda.

A lunch stop will be arranged along the journey. Your driver-guide will then continue toward Kampala or Entebbe, with arrival expected later in the day depending on traffic, road conditions and your final drop-off location.

You will be dropped at your hotel or another agreed location. Travelers departing Uganda should arrange their international flight with sufficient time between the expected road arrival and airport check-in.

This marks the end of your 3-Day Uganda Chimpanzee Trekking Safari, leaving you with memories of close encounters with chimpanzees and the beautiful tropical landscapes of Kibale.
