Kibira National Park is the largest rain forest in Burundi, it  is contiguous with Nyungwe Forest National park  in Rwanda, and is believed to still be home to hundreds of colobus monkeys. There are also a number of chimpanzees present though very difficult to  see.

Located at the apex of the beautiful Congo Nile range in between 1550 and 2660 m of altitude, the second largest wildlife reserve for primate viewing in Kibira National park covering an area of around  40,000 hectares.
