With the extinction of mountain gorillas all over the world, the presence of good conservation precautions in both Uganda and Rwanda has led to their increase and survival in the dense and thick montane areas of Bwindi impenetrable forest national park, Mgahinga national park in Uganda and Volcanoes national park in Rwanda.
Uganda itself host half of the world’s mountain gorillas in the world found in Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park and Mgahinga National park with a total of 480 mountain gorillas. Apparently Bwindi hosts 19 habituated gorilla families and one gorilla family in Mgahinga national Park which adds up to 20 habituated mountain gorillas.
Congratulatory messages goes to New baby gorilla in Mubare gorilla family in Buhoma sector the oldest gorilla family in Bwindi which was habituated way back in 1993, the birth of another baby gorilla in the family by Karungi blackback follows the new baby born by Businza, however apparently it’s difficult to get to see the baby since the mother is shy and tends to hide the new baby and provide extra warmth to the child like any other human being and as well regain strength from the birth complications.
It’s been three weeks when a new baby was given birth by the female gorilla Businza. Today on the7th-November 2019, another baby has been born in the family increasing the number of family members to 8. The gorilla family apparently involve 3 babies, 3 adult females, 1 silverback and 1 juvenile.
It’s as well an astonishing to find that it’s this gorilla family which possess the heaviest silverback in the entire jungle weighing over 200kgs. For visitors planning your trip this is indeed an exciting opportunity to meet these primates in their habitat and learn how they behave and survive in the jungle.
Great thanks to the rangers and Uganda tourism police who ensure that these great Apes are protected and habituation to give a chance to visitors have a safe encounter with them in the jungle without any harm caused to them.
The birth of new baby gorilla in Mubare Family is a blessing to the industry towards an increase of habituated gorilla families and an increase in demand to explore more about these great Apes which share 98.5% of human DNA.
