By Road: Lake Mburo National Park is located between the towns of Masaka and Mbarara close to the main south western road that links Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park. It is 228 km drive from Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park which takes you approximately 3-4 hours’ drive each way. The Lodge is Just a few minutes from the Park Main Gate.
By Air; you can opt to fly to Mbarara from Entebbe international airport by charter or scheduled flights. The flight will only take you at 40 mins and then drive for 30 mins to Mpogo safari lodge This however needs to be booked in advance given the fact the routing is mostly determined by the number of travelers aboard the flight and their destinations.
The best time to visit Lake Mburo National Park is during the dry months of December to February and then June to October during this time the road accessing the park are dry and driving through is easy compared to wet season, as well viewing wildlife and doing game drives it is easy given the fact during this time many animals converge at the various water points in the park and seeing them it is very easy compared to wet seasons of March to May and Later October to November.
