This 6 Days Gorillas and Murchison Falls Safari trip will show you some of the best highlights Uganda has to offer. you will have an opportunity of visiting the endangered mountain gorillas which are famous and major attractions located in Uganda in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which harbors half of the world’s mountain gorillas. Wildlife safari to Murchison falls national which is the largest and most visited destination in Uganda i.e the elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, waterbucks, bushbucks Uganda kobs, bird species among others.

You will experience a perfect combination of nature, culture, animals & fun. The tour will be guided by a local professional safari guide/ driver.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pickup from the Guest House/ Hotel in Entebbe/ Kampala and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early cup of coffee.  Our guide will pick you up from your hotel/guest house for a short briefing about the entire 6-day trip and the en-route stops you will be making on your way to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, this early morning drive enables us to reach early as well as a curb traffic jam.

Drive to the southwest part of Uganda, along the way have stops at the equator for photography and stretching. Stand between the imaginary lines crossing through the world, visit the souvenir shops one can buy one in memories of the tour. Head to Mbarara town as you drive through grasslands, see long-horned cattle grazing along the roadside.

Proceed to Bwindi as you view Banana plantations beautiful sceneries of rolling hills and many more.

Arrive at your lodge check in relax and have dinner.

Drive time: approximately 8-9 hours Drive.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking

After early morning breakfast, you will meet your guide again and drive to the park headquarters and meet other travelers for briefing at 7:30 am about the dos and don’ts when you meet the mountain Gorillas in the forest. Meet the game ranger and start off the hike which takes 30minutes to three-quarters of the day this depends on where the Mountains Gorillas are.

As you trek see different tree species, for bird lovers this will be your opportunity to spot a number of birds, have a chance to see the primates such as black and white colobus monkeys, mammals, and many more. On their muddy steep slopes, you’re advised to use a walking stick, and a minimum level of fitness is required to have your trek a success.

Once you meet our close relatives, you are given one hour to be in meters with the mountain Gorillas for photo shots as you listen to an informative talk from the wardens and rangers. Have lunch in the jungle thereafter return to the lodge to celebrate the Gorilla experience you will be awarded a Gorilla certificate.

Return to the lodge relax in the evening visit the Batwa Community as they expose their culture the Batwa are the first people who lived in Bwindi Forest, be entertained with their amazing dances, poems, and many more.

Note; Gorilla tracking is fairly strenuous, so a minimum level of fitness is required before you come for the hike.

Day 3: Departure for Fort Portal town

Morning breakfast. Bid farewell to the lodge, with great memories of the giant mountain Gorillas, start off the journey through the amazing rolling hills and you will transfer to Fort portal town overnight to cut the long journey short.

Drive time: approximately 6-7 hours’ drive.

Day 4: Transfer to Murchison falls National Park

Today, you will connect to Murchison Falls National Park.

Day 5: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

After an early breakfast, your guide will be waiting for you to start your morning game drive to look for the early grazers, and whilst on your drive, you may have the opportunity to see many animals such as buffalos, elephants, warthogs, and many more, depending on your lunch of the day, you may spot the big cats like lions and leopards but this is not a guarantee as we cannot make any appointments with nature.

After breakfast, take a short rest at the lodge as you prepare for the late afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the Nile. You will meet your guide again, who will transfer you to the peer for your late afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the Nile where the Victoria Nile surges through a narrow gap over a massive drop and you may see various animals along the banks of the river.

Accommodation: Pakuba Safari Lodge/ Murchison River lodge.

Day 6: Transfer back to Entebbe/ Kampala

After breakfast, bid farewell to your lodge and check out. You will have a morning game drive to look for the would-be missed out animals and then drive back to Entebbe/Kampala to end your 6 Day safari.

Drive time: Approximately 5-6 hours’ drive.
